1998AD is a collaborative project originating from lainchan.org. This website will serve as a homepage for the project, centralizing the work of contributors for convenience.

Our focus is creating original cyberpunk art, music, fiction, and other multimedia inspired by near-future scenarios and wild speculation. Currently, we have a few people working on short stories that will hopefully find their way into the lainzine. Some talented graphic designers and artists have already posted images to the 1998AD thread. I've just completed a small music release as a concept album for the project, and I believe we have a few other members who've expressed interest in creating graphic novels, websites and interactive content as well.

The lainzine is out. check it out here.

Not much has happened in the past few months, and the irc channel remains fairly quiet. Although I'm still interested in working on the project, I will be doing other things for the time being. It doesn't seem like there's enough collective drive among the community to continue the project, so I think it's safe to say this is a hiatus. I may try to revive 1998AD in the future, but for now, please enjoy all that we've produced over the last half-year or so.
